Publish Telugu stories on Katha Varnika and earn from reader Premium. Numbers below match our live Writer Pay settings.

What you get as a writer

  • No fee to join as a writer — approval required

How much we pay (revenue share)

We do not pay a fixed amount per episode. Each month, up to 50% of eligible net reader Premium / subscription revenue is allocated to the writer pool.

Your share of that pool depends on how Premium readers engage with your episodes (qualified reads — at least 70% completion and meaningful reading time, typically 60+ seconds). Earnings change every month with total subscriptions and your story performance.

When a reader buys a direct subscription to support you (from ₹49 / 30 days where enabled), you receive about 50% of that payment; the rest covers platform and payment costs.

Publishing does not guarantee income. Amounts vary by month.

Withdrawals & bank payout

  • Currency: INR. Withdraw when your payable balance is at least ₹300.00.
  • Add verified payout details in the app or Writer Studio: bank account (name, account number, IFSC) or UPI ID, plus billing email.
  • We transfer your earnings to your bank between the 1st and the 5th of every month. You receive an invoice by email, and the amount sent shows on your writer profile.
  • Balances below the minimum carry forward to the next month.
  • You are responsible for your own tax on writer income; consult a CA if needed.

How to start

  1. Register / log in and apply for writer access (Become a Writer).
  2. Create a story (series), upload a cover, and publish episodes.
  3. Complete payout setup so we can pay you when you cross the minimum.
  4. Track monthly earnings in Writer Studio → Earnings.
